Flash Reads Vol. 1

Welcome to Flash Reads!

With our lives in a fast-paced orbit around social media, we often flit between the barrage of headlines on our feeds without so much as a second glance. So here’s what we propose: every fortnight, set aside fifteen minutes and enjoy this list of carefully curated articles from the web.

For each issue, look forward to a total of three articles

  1. one design or marketing related

  2. one entertainment or lifestyle related,

  3. one world issue, to tickle your mind.

In this issue: Are the new SMRT train screens really that bad? Like honestly, what’s there to do in a museum? And, Otto Warmbier, the untold story.

“We found out two main user needs for the MRT screens: to find out where they are, and to find out how far they are from the destination.”

2. Museums Are Boring AF

“Yet there is something about the design of a museum’s space that provides an escape into another world, setting the mood for unexpected conversations with fellow visitors.”

3. The Untold Story of Otto Warmbier, American Hostage

A moment of folly ultimately doomed Otto Warmbier to be nothing more than a political pawn, even as he lay none the wiser.

“We tell stories so that we can make sense of irresolvable unknowns and then act.”
