2020, looking back

While many may look back on this year as “The Year the World Stood Still”, here at Flash, we’re all about subverting the narrative. In a year where brands and companies scrambled to rebrand themselves, we can look back and proudly say that this is “The Year we Took a Brave Leap Into the Future”. That sounds like quite a mouthful, but it’s true. But hey, rather than brag, here’s a recap of what we’ve done.

with People’s Association: Bukit Batok East Community Club National Day Observance Ceremony

In a year as bleak as this, traditions help to bring about a sense of normalcy and collective hope. So, while the pandemic may have put a damper on in-person celebrations, People’s Association saw it fit to organize a virtual festival for the residents of Bukit Batok East in celebration of National Day. Residents could participate in a series of exciting activities and competitions held across four weekends that culminated in a two-hour livestream – all from the comfort of their homes!

with National University of Singapore: Virtual Donor Appreciation Event

The generosity of donors has helped empower and transform the lives of many youth and the university saw it fit to bring their annual appreciation dinner online. We started by building an entire website complete with interactive elements such as livestream emoticons and live chat, message boards and even a virtual photobooth! Of course, no virtual event would be complete without a livestream! We helped piece together the 40-minute video, complete with breathtaking performances and heartfelt appreciation recordings.

with DBS: Future of Retail

In the latest of DBS’ Insights for Business Leaders series, we helped to bring their research, as well as key insights from leading players in the retail industry, to life! We even helped with social media amplification on Facebook and LinkedIn, and as a result, the video has already amassed over 8,500 views since its launch (at the time of writing). A combination of good content and production quality is a sure-win formula!

with Singapore Zoo: SmileClouds deployment

With the December holidays upon us, Singaporeans who could once be found scattered across the globe are now rediscovering the wonders our island nation has to offer. Over at the zoo, our SmileCloud machines were deployed as part of the Disney Outdoor Explorers campaign to bring smiles to the many kids visiting. Their eyes lit up with joy when they saw the novel foam clouds rise up into the sky!

Closing thoughts

Ask anyone in the Flash office what they can’t live without and the answer will most likely be coffee.

Without our daily doses, we wouldn’t have been able to create magic with our various clients this past year, which is why we found ourselves at BettrBarista for their coffee appreciation workshop! The team found themselves leaving with a greater understanding of the history of coffee, and possibly potential careers as baristas.

On the last working day of the year, the Flash office dressed up in their best renditions of a Christmas feast for a shot at the grand prize of $200 worth of Takashimaya vouchers! We’ll let you be the judge!
