While the Playstation 1 may have first come out in the middle to late 90s, the pixel art sprites that came along with it persisted long into the early 2000s and has become an iconic look for people everywhere. As we move into 2020 and graphics become even more hyperrealistic, let's take a step back and appreciate what brought us here.

2. Spotify 2019 Wrapped — a design masterstroke

Every year, I look forward to December. Christmas is part of it, but also because it's the month Spotify Wrapped comes out. I like seeing my listening data broken down and visualized. It's also the time I can proudly show off my 'exquisite' music taste to the world via Instagram Stories. Of course, this is all part of Spotify's genius UI/UX decisions.
